Designed for your baby‘s sensitive skin

Maximum air circulation thanks to extra-large ventilation holes

Description

The NUK Space Silicone Soother: for particularly sensitive baby skin

Our youngest babies not only have a mind of their own right from the start, but also completely different physical characteristics. Babies' young and delicate skin is particularly sensitive. NUK has designed the  NUK Space Silicone Soother to protect this skin in the best possible way and to ensure the greatest comfort for your offspring at all times.

The soother impresses with its particularly flat and thin baglet, which offers sufficient space for the natural sucking movement. The NUK Space Soother, therefore, fits optimally into the mouth when the baby sucks on it. More than 95% of babies accept the NUK Soother*. The NUK Space Soother also has particularly extra-large ventilation holes that ensure maximum air circulation and allow the baby's delicate skin to breathe. For this reason, 99% of mothers would recommend the NUK Space Soother for babies with delicate skin*.

This NUK model is available in various designs. The cute 3D animal motifs come in a space-saving packaging that you can also use as a transport box. Just let them disappear into your handbag or diaper bag and have the NUK Space Soother ready to hand at the right moment. The transport box is also suitable for hygienic preparation in the microwave. So, you can enjoy your little NUK Soother zoo for a long time.

Recommended by experts: NUK Soothers soothe even better than before

As the healthy overall development of your baby is very important to us, we would like every NUK baby to have a soothers that is close to nature and right for the jaw. Through the further development of the NUK original shape that is right for the jaw and in line with the latest medical findings, the NUK soother soothes better than ever before, as breastfed babies accept this pacifier too because of its familiar shape. Breastfeeding mothers have confirmed to us that the NUK Soother does not affect breastfeeding*.

In addition, NUK Soothers do not cause crooked teeth or jaw misalignment. This is ensured by the narrow, flat and thin baglet. It minimizes the pressure on the little teeth and the jaw – one more reason why the new NUK Soother is equally appreciated and recommended by midwives, pediatricians and orthodontists.

Thus 100% of the orthodontists surveyed confirm that the proven NUK Soother does not cause crooked teeth or jaw misalignment**. 90% of the mothers recommend it further and 92% of breastfeeding mothers confirm that the NUK Space Soother does not affect breastfeeding*.

    The Orthodontists' Choice

More than 90% of South African orthodontists recommend it because of its shape being right for the jaw.

    • How do you know which soother is best?

In a new study by the University of Minho, Portugal, scientists investigated the effects of different teat shapes on the development of the teeth, jaw and palate.

In comparison: the original NUK shape and three teats with a different design.

In this pacifier study, the child's sucking movements were closely observed: the tongue presses the pacifier against the palate. The less stress this causes the better.

    • What makes the NUK shape so much better?

      The Independant study proves:
The original NUK shape is best for teeth, jaw and palate.

      Advantages:

      • Least pressure on the palate
      • Minimal realignment of the teeth

    • What exactly does this mean for my child's development?

NUK pacifiers have the lowest risk of teeth realignment and the lowest risk of deforming the palate.

Using NUK Pacifiers has a lower risk of malocclusions such as "open bite", "cross bite" or "incisor protrusion".

    NUK Pacifier FAQs

When should I change my child’s pacifier size and why?

As baby grows, so does the size of their palate. Therefore, they require a larger pacifier baglet for proper soothing. NUK® offers pacifier sizes at every stage of development starting from Newborn to 36 months. We suggest you change your baby's pacifier size at 2 or 3, 6 and 18 months of age.

Round pacifier nipple vs asymmetrically-shaped pacifier nipple: why is asymmetrical better?

The original NUK® orthodontic nipple is asymmetrical to promote healthy oral development. Its natural shape mimics mom’s nipple while breastfeeding and the scoop bottom nipple allows for maximum tongue movement. NUK pacifiers also promote the natural development of baby's teeth and jaw through integrated channels on the orthodontic nipple that reduce jaw and palate pressure.

What do I need to know about pacifier hygiene?

Before your baby uses a new NUK® pacifier for the first time, sanitise the pacifier by boiling it in water for 5 minutes. For daily cleaning, wash with hot water and mild detergent, then rinse clean. NUK pacifiers are dishwasher-safe, top rack only. Water may get inside the nipple during cleaning, and can be removed by squeezing the nipple. For hygiene and safety, replace pacifiers after 2 months of use.

How often should I replace my pacifier?

For hygiene and safety reasons, we recommend replacing pacifiers after 2 months or if any tears or cracks appear.
